Pre-Field Missionaries

Below you will find different forms that must be completed at different stages of your loan forgiveness for your BGC Pre-Field Missionary Candidate Award.  Read the description of each form to determine which one is the form our office needs on your behalf in order to make your loan current.  To download the form, simply click on it and you will be linked to an interactive pdf version of it.  Instructions are also available.

 Verification of Candidacy

  • This form is used to verify that you are an official career missionary candidate with a sending agency/Christian organization, and are taking the necessary steps toward making your way overseas.
  • It must be completed and submitted by a representative from your organization.  (You cannot complete and submit the form yourself.)
  • The correct completion and submission of this form to our office will result in your loan being put into deferment for no more than a 12 month period.  No payments will be needed, nor interest accrued on the loan amount.

  Verification of Progress toward Deployment

  • This form is used to verify that you are making progress toward deploying to your ministry overseas if your return is delayed beyond the 12 month deferment period provided after our office received a Verification of Candidacy Form on your behalf.
  • It must be completed and submitted by a representative from your organization.  (You cannot complete and submit the form yourself.)
  • The correct completion and submission of this form to our office will result in your loan being put into deferment for no more than a 12 month period.  No payments will be needed, nor interest accrued on the loan amount.

 Verification of Deployment 

  • This form is used to verify the actual date you deploy to your ministry outside North America. 
  • It must be completed and submitted by a representative from your organization once you have left North America.  (You cannot complete and submit the form yourself.)
  • The correct completion and submission of this form to our office will result in the beginning of your loan forgiveness.
  • Instructions

 Verification of Service

  • This form is used to verify that you have served overseas with your organization for one year, and therefore have earned up to one year of forgiveness on your loan.
  • It is used one year from the date you return to your ministry outside of North America, and on an annual basis for three additional years (for a total of four years). 
  • Notice: Only one year of service (or less) can be verified at a time.  This is why this form must be submitted annually.
  • The Verification of Service Form must be completed and submitted by a representative from your organization.  (You cannot complete and submit the form yourself.)
  • The correct completion and submission of this form to our office will result in the forgiveness of the appropriate amount of your loan (up to one year), and the continuation of your loan forgiveness and postponement for no more than a 12 month period.
  • Instructions

 Verification of Academic Enrollment

  • This form is used to verify that you are enrolled in another advanced, degree-seeking academic program at least half time.
  • It should be used if you are still in the process of earning loan forgiveness when you decide to pursue this additional advanced degree.
  • Notice: Only one academic year can be verified at a time.  Therefore, this form must be submitted annually.
  • The Verification of Academic Enrollment Form must be completed and submitted by an academic officer from the school in which you are enrolled.  (You cannot complete and submit the form yourself.)
  • The correct completion and submission of this form to our office will result in your loan being put into deferment for no more than a 12 month period.  No payments will be needed, nor interest accrued on the loan amount.
